The Chelsea Flower Show this Wednesday and the weather is looking bright for the week. If you’re visiting and haven’t found anywhere to stay yet or are considering staying overnight somewhere – make a mini-break of it, why not try a camping stay? Take your caravan, motorhome or tent to one of four Caravan and Motorhome Club sites that are within 20 miles are the Chelsea Flower Show.
Surrounded by trees so that you feel tucked away in a green oasis, Wyatts Covert Club Site is well located to suit the tastes of every mood - the non-stop action and shopping of London is only 18 miles away and the caravan site is also ideal for visiting small picturesque towns like Marlow and taking river trips along the Thames. Nearby Denham station takes you into Marylebone, with easy access to the underground system, stopping at Wembley Stadium, the venue for extensive sporting and music events.
Abbey Wood Club Site feels positively rural when you reach this gently sloping verdant site. Its mature tree screening and spacious grounds make this a 'green oasis', with tent pitches and pods also available. This site's unique selling point is its location - there are shops and good railway connections, providing frequent services to central London in just 35 minutes, within walking distance of the caravan site. Alternatively, nearby Greenwich offers its own blend of fascinating attractions, including the famous observatory and National Maritime Museum.
Crystal Palace Club Site is ideally placed for visitors who are keen to visit London and all its attractions. The number 3 bus near the caravan park departs regularly and goes into London via Brixton, Lambeth Bridge, Trafalgar Square and terminates on Oxford Street. The bus operates all through the night so late night theatre goers need not worry about returning to site. As well as London itself, the site is ideally situated for annual events such as the Ideal Home Exhibition, the London to Brighton mini run, the London Marathon, the Chelsea Flower show, Wimbledon and of course Christmas and New Year events.
With convenient access from the M25 motorway, Alderstead Heath Club Sites has a picturesque setting that you and your family will find ideal for a relaxing and peaceful holiday break. The site is surrounded by rolling wooded countryside and situated near the Pilgrims Way, so there are many lovely walking trails - in particular across the North Downs - to explore at your leisure. The site is perfect for dog walkers; you can pick up details about the Downlands Circular Walk from the site entrance. The Fox pub can also be reached by foot and is approximately 40 minutes away. The caravan site offers the best of both worlds - it's proximity to London also makes this site a great base to explore the non-stop activities of the capital.
