Here at Raleigh we love the change in seasons! As the weather starts to get a little cooler and the nights start to draw in most people think its time to pack their bikes away for winter, but we think differently.
Autumn is a great time to get out on family bike rides that you might have missed out on in the summer. Plus family rides are a great way to spend time together – Did you know the average family only spends 34 ‘undistracted’ minutes a day together!? So this Autumn we’re challenging you to get out and about on your bikes as a family. But if your kids’ bikes are on the small side you can always take a quick peak at the new additions to our kids range.
Why Cycle this Autumn?
Cycling is a fantastic (free!) activity to help keep your family healthy and active. Did you know that the NHS recommends that children do at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day? Meanwhile us adults are expected to tot up 30 minutes of moderate exercise five days every week. That’s quite a lot to fit into your busy schedule! But getting out on your bikes can make that seem like a breeze; you’ll get exercise and fresh air, see the beautiful autumn leaves & wildlife and get to take advantage of those cheeky hot chocolate stops all while spending time together as a family.
Whats New in The Kids Bike Range?
This year we’ve made a key change to the majority of bikes in our kids range. Narrow tyres have been selected for the range which feature a modern small block tread pattern making the wheels slimmer and lighter than the majority of the other children’s bikes on the market. These tyres are suitable for riding on all terrains including traffic free paths, roads and light trails. You’ll find these tyres on all of our new non-stabiliser bikes.
The Atom is made for little superheroes! A perfect first stabiliser bike designed to get your little ones on the move from an early age. Available in three sizes including 12″, 14″ and 16″ in Red, Yellow and Green respectively. The fun and funky cartoon print is sure to catch your child’s eye!
Developed on an Aluminium frame with oversized hydro formed tubes, the Zero is the ultimate lightweight boy’s bike. With a pattern inspired by the wild ocean waves, this speedy little number is available in a choice of four sizes; 16″, 18″, 20″ & 24″. Range colours include Camo Green, Champagne, Midnight Blue and Black.
The Chic is the perfect bike for little girls embarking on their early cycling adventures; designed for safety and style with a tailored low step frame design and a handy prop stand. Metallic pastel paint finishes create the perfect sophisticated look for the range with a choice of four sizes in 16″, 18″, 20″ & 24″. Range colours include Pink, Purple, Blue and Mint Green.
Designed in loud and rowdy colourways complimented by black components and a crazy feature print, the Bedlam is available in a choice of four sizes. 16″, 18″, 20″ & 24″ sized wheel models are available in Red, Orange, Yellow and Blue respectively.
The Abstrakt features a suspension fork making the bike perfect for riding on most surfaces by smoothing out any terrain bumps. Available in a choice of sizes from an 18″to 24″ wheel in Green, Blue and Red.
Why Choose Raleigh?
We know that choosing a bike for your child is a big decision – quality and safety are paramount. Plus you want to make sure their new bike can stand up to the endless miles and a bit of punishment; because after all, you don’t want to be telling them to be careful all the time!
We make safety a priority on all of our bikes but we pay particular attention to making sure that our children’s bikes are super- safe. Clever features such as our special Junior non-slip pedals and brake modulators, which regulate the force applied to the brakes resulting in smoother stopping, are applied throughout the range.
At Raleigh we have years of experience in developing quality children’s bikes and have many a happy customer to show for it. We think it’s the little thinks that count – like making sure that every bike’s graphics are applied under a clear lacquer to ensure they don’t fade or become damaged over time. Your childhood bike may even have been a Raleigh, so why not make it a family tradition….
