The star of our Adventure Range, the Mustang is designed for the real world of getting to work or grabbing some fun at the weekend. A hybrid bike built for speed and agility, the Mustang Comp finds the perfect balance between a road and off road bike allowing you to ride on a wide range of terrains. Take the towpath or the short cut through the woods, deal with the potholes and uneven tarmac of the British roads with ease.
The all new Mustang Comp features a super lightweight Double butted Aluminium frame and tapered headtube with Gravel frame geometry; designed to offer a more relaxed riding position than a traditional road bike without compromising too much on speed. The Gravel-specific carbon fork is lightweight and shock absorbent while the tapered alloy steerer affords precise handling and great tyre clearance.
Tubeless compatible rims make it simple to upgrade to tubeless tyres if you want to be sure that a puncture won’t hold you back on your adventures. The Mustang Comp makes use of SRAM's wide range Apex 1 gears combined with a single chain ring for the ultimate in simplicity. Stopping is covered SRAM Apex 1 hydraulic disc brakes which offer superior levels of power and control whilst remaining smooth.

Raleigh’s 2016 gravel bike range boasts a host of modern features which make riding off road an enjoyable experience. The inclusion of a SRAM 1 group set is definitely a highlight of the Raleigh Mustang Comp. There’s good shifting, an absence of chain slap over rougher ground and little likelihood of chain loss. The hydraulic disc brakes which come with SRAM 1 are an asset too providing assured braking with a light touch. It’s also great to see a quality set of tubeless-ready wheels with a wide section. It’s another nice piece of future-proofing, particularly with the thru axles, which are rapidly becoming a standard for disc braked bikes. The tyres too are a quality offering. Although not quite up to the rigours of British winter bridleways, they’re good for drier conditions and paved tracks and are easily swapped out for a more aggressive tread pattern and tubeless running if you find you need these.Click Here For The Full Article
The Raleigh Mustang range comes in three levels, all featuring durable aluminium 6061 double-butted alloy frames, and new for the latest range, 700c x 36c tyres which have a wide footprint giving greater grip on lots of terrain types. The entry level Mustang Sport features the Shimano Claris groupset coupled with the FSA Adventure chainset with low gears to help riders hit the hills off-road. The Mustang Elite brings the SRAM Apex 1 gears coupled with a single chain ring for the ultimate in simplicity. The powerful Spyre disc brakes make stopping sure and smooth. The top of the range Mustang Comp also features the SRAM Apex 1 gears, but is coupled with the SRAM HRD shift lever that integrates the hydraulic braking system with the double tap 11-speed shifter to make braking secure and shifting accurate. Taking the towpath or short cut through the woods, dealing with pot holes and shooting across the tarmac has never been so simple. We really liked the Raleigh Mustang Elite when we tested it. It does everything a regular road bike does, but it does it with the added comfort of the big tyres.
