The Fern affords classy, timeless style and an exceptional quality finish informed by over 130 years of British bike design and influenced by our heritage ranges.
The Fern’s aluminium frame is light-weight, making the bike easy to manoeuvre and the carefully considered frame design has a relaxed geometry coupled with swept back handlebars to support a comfortable upright riding position. This riding style enables you to be more aware of your surroundings so you can enjoy riding your new bike safely and with confidence. The lightweight aluminium seat post also has a special feature which allows you to adjust your saddle slightly forwards or backwards to find the perfect comfort riding position tailored to you.
When it comes to a classic bike we know it’s all about the accessories, and that’s why we only chose the best. High quality Selle Royal accessories have been added to the bike including a woman’s specific saddle and soft handlebar grips in a matching soft vintage brown colour. The Fern’s elegant Cream frame colour has been extended to a range of additional features including the pannier rack, mudguards, chain cover and wheel rims. The traditional wicker-style basket complete with a green gingham basket cover which doubles as a shopping bag and the classic ‘ding-dong’ bell really are the finishing touches.
The 3 speed SRAM internal hub gears reduce maintenance requirements and are simple to use whilst Tektro brakes provide safe stopping power. A steering limiter has been added to the bike to provide supported steering whilst you're riding and ensure that when your bike is resting on its propstand the front wheel doesn't tip to one side unexpectedly. Internally routed cables help to achieve a clean ‘cable free’ look, reduce maintenance and avoid trapped clothing incidents. Additionally all of the Fern’s graphics have been carefully sealed under a clear, protective lacquer to keep your bike pristine no matter where your travels take you.
Complimentary cream coloured tyres provide an added element of sophistication in addition to their added functionality. The tyres are wider than standard with an increased volume which results in a cushioning effect and provides a smoother, more comfortable ride. Plus these tyres feature a puncture protective layer to reduce maintenance needs and a tread pattern suitable for roads, paths and light trails. The Fern is the ideal companion for your weekend adventures.
